Mobile milling

On-site milling with a fully hydraulic LT50.

Have logs already down or staged? Sierra Custom Lumber can bring the mill to the property and turn usable logs into boards, beams, or project stock, so what's already on the ground becomes a locally sourced option instead of a hauling bill or a chip pile.

Fully hydraulic Wood-Mizer LT50 Super Wide

Cut capacity

Up to 20' 3" long and about 35" wide

Before the mill arrives

  • Once logs are staged, the mill can load, turn, and cut on site.
  • Logs should be clean enough to avoid dirt, rocks, nails, and metal.
  • Good staging saves time and keeps the hourly work focused on milling.
  • Boards can be stacked, stickered, and banded after cutting.

Local wood, less waste

Fuels-reduction and clearing work often ends at the chipper. Sawlogs from that work can go through the mill instead and stay in the community that grew them.

Rough-sawn lumber

Dimensional boards, beams, posts, and project stock can be cut to the sizes you need.

Byproducts

Mill ends, half rounds, jackets, sawdust, chips, and scrap firewood may be available depending on current work.
